The need to reduce CO2 emissions is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing today’s populations as global temperatures continue to rise, and dependence on fossil fuels still remains. An effective and sustainable way of reducing CO2 is through the continued growth of renewable energy and low carbon energy systems that can be used to power buildings and transport networks.

Financial Incentives

There are obvious benefits from specifying renewable energy systems which have been well-documented. However, to increase uptake of the systems the Government has issued several financial incentives. 

These include: 

• The Feed-in-Tariff (FiTs)
• The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
• The Green Deal
• The Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs)
